Rum Cay Diving
Rum Cay now has a professional dive service with Rum Cay Divers! This is very exciting! Rum Cay used to be the home of the Rum Cay Dive Club almost 20 years ago. The Club flourished bringing professional divers, photographers, life and jobs to the island. After some difficulties the dive club closed down so access to the Rum Cay reefs were limited due to there not being any equipment or services to get to them. Now...times have changed and Rum Cay Divers is set up and ready for service.
Headed by Annie (Aniko Pekarik) Rum Cay Divers offeres various dive options listed below. Annie is assisted by JJ, a Rum Cay local and super nice guy! They have brand new tanks, compressor and equipment ready to go. A new Dive Shack is located at Sumner Point Marina right on the dock....check out picture on the right!
The Rum Cay Reefs provide large drop-offs and deep reefs. Huge 60 foot coral walls can be found at the Grand Canyon. Good diving can also be found at Pinder's Point with staghorn coral right off of Sumner Point. The HMS Conqueror sank in 1861 and can still be found in 30 feet of water in a staghorn gully near the breaking reef. |
