It used to be that you could only get to Rum by boat or private charter.
Times have changed and more flight options are now available
Flight options
Cat Island Air
For now there is only one commercial airline that services Rum Cay. Cat Island Air flies Nassau to Rum every Saturday & Tuesday. The flight is scheduled to leave Nassau at 11 am arriving in Rum Cay around 12 noon. It's then scheduled to turn around and fly straight back to Nassau arriving around 1:15pm. Although Cat Island Air has a reputation of not being on time and not even flying they have, as of recent, taken a more profressional turn for the better.
It's best that you call them to get their up-to-date schedule & make your reservation
at 242-377-3318. A one way flight is $95.
Over Under Aviation
Over Under is a charter company that flies out of Fort Lauderdale. They fly a twin-engine Aztec that seats five passengers. A one way flight from FLL to Rum Cay is $2300.

If you’re flying IFR we can track you on www.flightaware.com. Just give us your tail #!
In 2004 Rum Cay was blessed with a brand new air strip. It's 4500 ft paved with 500 ft over runs. Right now you will find limited services at the airport. But we do have jet "A" & Av/gas for sale!!!! Let us know if you need to be fueled up on arrival and we can have the fuel truck ready!
There are plans for a 5000 sq ft airport building which will finally house Customs. However, until then you will not find a toilet or a telephone. So it's best to let someone know you're coming, otherwise, it's a three mile walk into town! We ask that you inform us of your ETA and then have your pilot "buzz" over the marina
to let us know you're here. Sometimes you may get cell phone service so you can call George at 242-479-0017 for a taxi pickup.

$25 one way from airport to Sumner Point Marina.
Call him directly at 242-331-2809. It's best to call him at least one day ahead so he knows you're coming!
Clearing Customs
Until the airport building is completed all private charter planes must clear customs prior to arriving on Rum Cay. We would suggest clearing in to Stella Maris, Georgetown or New Bight.
If you are arriving by boat you will also need to clear in on another island such as San Salvador or Long Island.
