Kaye's Bar & Restaurant

Rum Cay Sand Bar & Restaurant - A Rum Cay Institution - 242-331-2816

Kaye's Bar is owned by Delores Wilson and is named after her wonderful daughter, Kaye. The Bar floor is literally covered with sand which gives the place an authentic beach bar. Delores is a great cook but be sure to book a few hours ahead! At usually $20/person she would put out a few dishes family style that also includes dessert. This is a great place for a cold beer and the first local bar you'll reach on foot if coming from Sumner Point. Please don't forget to sign the guestbook!

Bahamian Buffet meets Rum Cay Tradition

Ruby puts out an amazing Bahamaian buffet with dishes ranging from her famous chicken curry, goat curry (sometimes local), fried chicken, mac 'n cheese, conch salad, fried fish, multiple desserts, and the list goes on. Traditionally the buffets were on Wednesday nights but during slow season it's best to go in and check with her ahead of time. It's best to try to get a group together and let her know....she will be happy to accommodate you any night. The buffet usually costs $20/person. They serve the COLDEST beer on Rum along with spirits and maybe some wine.

Toby's Bar

What can you say about Toby's Bar but another Rum Cay institution. .Friday nights used to be Toby's Fish Fry nights.

There will always be a cold beer available. It's a great place to just gaze at the graffiti filled walls with messages from drunken Captains, forgotten sailors and modern day pirates.

George's Taxi on Rum Cay

George's Taxi & Tours

There's no one friendlier on Rum Cay than our only Taxi guy on the island...George Gaitor. He's dependable and has a van that can seat about 12 people! If you need an airport pick-up George is your man. Make sure you call him ahead of time of your ETA. There are no phones at the airport and sometimes cellphone service is also not available so to avoid the three mile walk to town it's best to give him a call the day before to let him know. He also offers Rum Cay island tours! Be sure to call him for his rates!
